Churches Together study groups, running for six weeks, from week beginning 19th February.
Sign-up sheets in St John’s Room.
Two main options will be available.
Denholme Shared Church will be the venue for a JSP (Jesus Shaped People) course on Thursday mornings. This will look at the prayer life of Jesus with a special focus on the Lord’s Prayer, closing with a soup and bread-roll lunch. If there is sufficient interest an evening session is also possible. Members of the other churches will be most welcome but advance booking will be essential for catering purposes.
The alternative study is Finding a Voice: a Lent Course based on the film ‘The King’s Speech’. This has already been trialled successfully by Rev. Christine Crabtree. The film will be used as a trigger for discussion of what the Bible has to say omany universal issues.
Four parallel groups are planned:
Monday evening led by Rev. Suzy at St. John’s Cullingworth. Will start 19th February
Tuesday morning led by Rev. Christine (venue to be confirmed)
Wednesday evening led by Robert Waddington (venue to be confirmed)
Friday morning led by Helen Keighley at St. Saviour’s
Each group will need at least one copy of the DVD of the film. Do you have one that you could lend? If so please contact Helen Keighley or Sandra Haigh.
The Kings Speech will be shown at St John’s on Monday 5th February at 7pm in preparation for the start of the course.
